Promoting Integrated Professional Development
for Prison Practitioners in Vocational Excellence for Offender Reintegration

Centres of Vocational Excellence in Corrections

PROMOTE aims to establish centres of vocational excellence that democratize access to learning and upskilling within the corrections system. This initiative sets up a continuous professional training mechanism for practitioners working in criminal correctional justice systems, including public and private employees, both within and outside the justice system.

The project focuses on enhancing the learner experience and updating competencies to maximize societal impact through the successful reintegration of incarcerated persons. It facilitates the exchange of expertise and experiences among practitioners, encouraging participatory research and community-led solutions. This approach empowers practitioners to actively engage in their professional development and problem-solving processes, bridging gaps between different employment settings and education levels, and ensuring all practitioners have the relevant skills to support the reintegration of convicted individuals.

Target Groups

Practitioners delivering activities within the criminal correctional justice systems, including public and private employees, both within and outside the justice system.
